Wisdom from the Sufi master, prophet and poet, Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī.
Why? Because when we give from our depths, we give from our reserves, diminishing them. When we give from our overflow, our reserves remain, always available for the unexpected needs that can arise in life, for ourselves and others.
When we give ourselves to silence, stillness, and prayer, we begin to overflow. Drawn to bathe in our peace, people gather to drink and rest at the watering hole of silence and stillness.
In such situations, we don’t even have to give, as there is such an overflow, more than we need, of divine energy, seeping out into our partner, family, friends, and the greater community around us.
