an invitation to give

Dear friends of Silentium,
Today, I offer a different kind of invitation to you — an invitation to give.
Each month, I traditionally have walked an online alms round. This is the first for a couple of months, as I stepped back for a couple of months, due to health and family issues that needed my close attention. After a complex end to last year, and taking time to regroup, today, here I am, resting at the heart of silence here. A key part of this work, is to invite your further support not only for my work here, but also to support me in my ability to offer individuals in urgent financial the opportunity to access to one to one sessions, courses, and subscriptions here.
Today is another day of that alms round. If you simply wish to send a token of that support now, below is the short route to actively supporting myself and Silentium. In exchange for your support, you are able to access the full archive of 1,841 posts here.
Silentium subscribers today number as follows:
Total subscribers 2,791
Paid subscribers 118
If even 10% of subscribers here had a paid subscription to Silentium, there would be a total of 279 paid subscribers, bringing almost two and a half times the funds to support me in my work here and elsewhere, to fund my equipment maintenance, software, heat, light, space, and my own time. This is not a hobby, it is something that I absolutely must share, and I show up to this work daily, posting typically up to five times a week. Subscribers here so far have funded my laptop, after my old one failed in late 2024, showing a significant level of support for this, my life’s work.
If you are a paid subscriber here, whether monthly, annual, or a founding subscriber, thank you for your ongoing support. You have my attention and support, and you are doing all you need to in order to sustain my work here. Please know that you are welcome to message me or email me if you need to ask something, or have something to share with me.
If you are a free subscriber here, I’m inviting you today to consider changing that, and signing up for a paid subscription. If you’re not keen on subscriptions, I understand, it’s a factor to consider, for all of us these days, myself included, as I have to hold a paid subscription for much of the software I use here.
One example of the way this support assists me in serving our community here, is that in January 2026, after three years of weekly gatherings, I paused The Silence: a gathering in stillness. The Silence first opened on 1 January 2023, so this hiatus is not something I took lightly. It was a very difficult change to make. But whilst some of you showed up weekly, or monthly, or in varying patterns, few honoured the request to support The Silence through donations. I put all of my heart into hosting The Silence, but it was not a labour of love, it was not a labour at all, it was a space where I benefited from our group sittings. But without long term ongoing support, given the challenges to my health over recent years, it simply was no longer a viable resource for me to provide and host.
In taking up a paid subscription, you gain access not only to paid subscriber only posts, such as those I’m now sharing on the weekends, but you will have ongoing access to search and read the entire archive of 1,841 posts here in Silentium, dating back to July 2019.
If you feel able to step up from a free to paid subscription here, your support is most welcome, and very much needed. Other ways you can offer one off or ongoing support are listed below, along with a link to make a donation, a recurring donation, or to book a one to one session or course with me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and thank you for your support, in whatever form it arises.
Much love to you all, Andō x
